Taking the Chinese adjectives in the Wei,Jin,Southern and Northern dynasties as the research object,this paper makes an exhaustive analysis of the adjectives in the three corpus of "Bao Pu Zi Nei Pian" "Shi Shuo Xin Yu " "LuoYang Qie Lan Ji" and makes a comprehensive study of the adjectives in this period from the perspectives of the composition of parts of speech and syntactic functions.On this basis,this paper summarizes the characteristics of Chinese adjectives in Wei,Jin,Southern and Northern dynasties,and reveals some commonalities and differences between them and ancient,modern and modern Chinese adjectives.The paper is divided into six parts.The introduction mainly introduces the reason of the topic selection and the research status of ancient Chinese adjectives,and briefly explains the value of corpus,the selection of corpus versions and the research methods of this paper.The first chapter discusses the criteria for judging adjectives in this paper,analyzes the ways to distinguish adjectives from other parts of speech,adjectives and adjective phrases,classifies and counts adjectives in three corpora according to their syllables and structures,and describes the frequency of each adjective.In the second chapter,the author makes quantitative statistics of the three corpora in which adjectives act as syntactic components.The results show that adjectives are mainly used as predicates and attributives,accounting for 37.8% and 30.5% respectively,followed by adverbials,accounting for 13.2%.The ability of adjectives as subjects and objects is weak,accounting for 3.3% and 12.5% of the total,respectively.The types of complements have developed,accounting for 2.7% of the total.The third chapter is the comparison of the dating characteristics of Chinese adjectives in Wei,Jin,Southern and Northern dynasties.The characteristics of adjectives in the Wei,Jin,Southern and Northern dynasties are summarized by comparing them with those in ancient and modern times.In the Wei,Jin,Southern and Northern dynasties,the tendency of polyphonic adjectives in Chinese was obvious.The function of aa-type adjectives is not predicated,but mostly ACTS as adverbial and attributive.The fourth chapter mainly analyzes two cases related to Chinese adjectives in Wei,Jin,Southern and Northern dynasties.It probes into the usage,nature,origin and evolution of the adjective affix " Xin ",which was unique in this period.This paper analyzes the transformation of the adjective " Shen " from a predicate in the pre-qin period to an adverbial in the Wei,Jin,Southern and Northern dynasties.Finally,this paper summarizes the characteristics of Chinese adjectives in the Wei,Jin,Southern and Northern dynasties in terms of constitution,grammatical function and other aspects,and analyzes the shortcomings of the research.
