| Named as“The Research of Li Yu’s scriptwriting theory”,this thesis takes The Occasional Notes with Leisure Motions(《闲情偶寄》)and The Ten Plays of Li Yu(《笠翁传奇十种》)as the research objects, trying to discuss Li Yu’s scriptwriting theory system based on his practices and focus on the debut.Originated from Li Yu himself together with his theatrical works, this thesis first discusses the reasons of his scriptwriting theory under the background of the times and individuals, and then reveals the principles and methods of his scriptwriting. Finally, use these principles and method to test the practice of specific scriptwriting. This thesis composes four chapter. The first chapter explores the formation of Li Yu’s scriptwriting theory.Li Yu,from a examiner to a professional playwright. He has a large number of theatrical works, such as Lian Xiang Ban(《怜香伴》),Huang Qiu Feng(《凰求凤》)which have gained great success through the performance of family troupes.During these decades of experience in the preparation and performance of plays,Li Yu has accumulated rich experience in the preparation and performance of scripts in a subtle way, effectively distinguishing the predecessor’s scriptwriting theory from focusing on“sing”or“literary”script creation, draw lessons and experience, and gradually build a more perfect scriptwriting theory according to the two perspectives of“viewers”and“playing”,returning to the the origin of drama. The second chapter illustrates the principle of Li Yu’s scriptwriting theory with“debut” as the core and the two perspectives of “viewer” and “playing”.Li Yu’s scriptwriting has inherited the view of the script of the predecessors in terms of structure, theme, plot, temperament or language, but the core principle theory haschanged.Li Yu emphasizes the “debut” of drama. On the one hand,he understands the similarities and differences of the group of viewers, and proposes the principle of scriptwriting according to the demands of “viewers”;on the other hand, starting from the requirements of “playing”,focusing on the effect of the stage performance is to create a lively and full-fledged performance on the field, and strive to create a perfect drama aesthetic life which makes everyone loved. The third chapter puts forward Li Yu’s scriptwriting method based on the principle of scriptwriting.According to his present theatrical works,Li Yu’s scriptwriting can be divided into two types: original and adapted. The two starting points of different raw materials are the same as the core of the “debut”,but the way of writing is different.First, the original scriptwriting method mainly uses the“reducing clue” “balancing music and binbai” “natural jocks” and other methods to create a new original script;second, the adaptation scriptwriting method is based on the original selection of the method of “shrinking to short” and “changing old to new”to achieve transformation,to achieve the best effect of stage performance and to achieve the viewer’s most “emotional” dramatic aesthetic life. The fourth chapter is the analysis of Li Yu’s scriptwriting practice. This thesis chose Li Yu’s most representative adapted play called Pi Pa Ji.Xun Fu(《琵琶记·寻夫》)and Gao Ming’s Pi Pa Ji(《琵琶记》)to make a comparative read of the original twenty-ninth out of the Qi Gai Xun Fu(乞丐寻夫),detailing the new harlequin in the plot and the modification of the fourteen sets of songs;the additions and deletions of the songs and the changes of the scientific changes in the lines;and the modification of the instructions of the sections in the details of the movements.Through the verification of specific scriptwriting practice, the practicality and origin of the scriptwriting theory are affirmed.Li Yu’s scriptwriting theory focuses on the origin of the drama “debut”,that is,the two levels of the viewer’s center and the movement consciousness.Under the context of the theater, two sets of “indeterminate methods” scriptwriting methods were proposed. The theory of scriptwriting has an inspirational influence from“planarization” to “three-dimensionality”.Investigating the current value of hisscriptwriting theory, this thesis believes that his theory of scriptwriting has certain reference value for the future. |
