Geling Yan has been influenced by drama since childhood, which makes her form theconcept of“life is like a drama”in her novel creation. Learning from the creationmethod of drama in the writing of novel has influenced the creation style andexpressing way on one hand; on the other hand, it has influenced the shape of thecharacters and the expression of the ideological content of the work, which makes hernovel have the dramatic features. This paper is trying to explore Geling Yan’s noveldrawing on the drama from three aspects, that is creation view, dramatic character andthe inertextality of novel and drama.The first chapter will comb out Geling Yan’s creation view of“Life is like a drama”in her unique dramatic experience as the starting point. The family environment ofstrong dramatic atmosphere and the experience of being dancer and creating dramaforms her creation view of“life is like a drama”.The second chapter, she often chose people and things being related to drama in hernovel, Dramatists, actors and average audience have become her vivid characters.Through the description of the dancers in force represented by Xiao Suizi and the artistsrepresented by Sun Likun and Zhu Yijin, shows Geling Yan’s understanding of theprimary stage and the highest stage of the art. The creation view of“life is like a drama”also makes Geling Yan given to the heroes the perspective of drama“audience”. Theheroes observe affairs and history, just like watching an opera, which shows theiroptimistic or indifferent attitude on one hand; On the other hand, it shows theirreflection and tolerance on history. The heros’thoughts in the novel show the writer’screation concept of“life is like a drama.”The third chapter, learning from the expressing method in drama is stylisticperformance of dramatic feature in Geling Yan’s novel. The creation view of“life is likea drama”makes Geling Yan learns from dramatic performance practices in her novelcreation. She default all kinds of contradictory relationship by characters’dialogue andpromotes the development of the contradictions by the dialogue of action. Subtle dramatic subtexts given to character’s complex emotion and reveals the deeppsychology. Besides, Geling Yan integrates dramatic situations into novel creation.Through the acuteness, coincidence and transformation of situations develop thecharacter’s nature to the ultimate, showing the richness. Geling Yan’s learning fromdramatic suspense is performed as the leaving doubts, not fixed-point and gap when shenarrates. She creats the suspense through unknown situations, which makes the plot ofher novel ups and variety, arousing readers expect the development of plot.The forth chapter, through the interpretation of the intertextality between novel anddrama, explore the penetration from subjects in drama to the thoughts in novel. Thecreation view of“life is like a drama”and well-knowing make Geling Yan good atexpressing the keynotes of novel by the dialogue of drama. In Geling Yan’s learningfrom drama version, though parody, allusions and quotes makes the novel and dramafrom a intertexual of mapping and referent by each other and makes the narration of thenovel have more tension. In this chapter, through the interpretation of the intertextalitywith the specific novels, such as“The White Snake”,“A Woman’s Epic”“The DevilDan”and the dramas, such as“The White-haired girl”“A doll’s house”and“Butterfly”explore the connection on thought of novel and drama.
