With the comprehensive advancement of curriculum reform and education informatization,modern education technology with the computer and network technology as the core has changed the ways of teaching and learning.The integration of information technology with curricula is an important issue in the popularization of modern information technology education.It is also an important means to carry out quality education in an all-round way and cultivate students' creative consciousness and practical ability.This paper aims to analyze the problems in integration by investigating the current situation of the integration of information technology into junior English curriculum in Yantai,and then put forward some suggestions to improve English teachers' understanding of the integration in Yantai and promote the integration of information technology into junior English curriculum.The research participants of this paper are 159 English teachers from 12 junior high schools in Yantai.Through literature review,questionnaire survey,classroom observation and interview,the following three questions are studied: 1.What are the teachers' attitudes towards the integration of information technology into junior high school English curriculum? 2.What are the ways of integrating information technology into English Curriculum in junior high schools? 3.What are the problems in the integration of information technology into junior high school English curriculum?Through the analysis of the data,the author finds that: First,91% of the teachers recognize the positive role of information technology in English teaching,and 77% of the teachers can use information technology in the process of teaching;Second,there are various ways to integrate information technology with English curriculum in junior high schools,which are mainly embodied in the five links: lesson preparation,classroom teaching,assignment and modification of homework,after-class guidance and teaching evaluation.Third,51% of the teachers lack understanding of the meaning of information technology and curriculum integration as well as related theories,especially the theory of TPACK.There is little training in practice which is less effective.And the schools don't attach importance to the construction of school-based English resource database and teaching teams.In view of the above findings,the author puts forward the following suggestions: First,increasing information technology training,especially TPACK theory and information technology practice,so that teachers can truly learn to integrate information technology into English curriculum.Second,strengthening the construction of the information technology research team,construct a professional learning community for English teachers to effectively carry out information-based teaching practice and conduct teaching evaluation,and strengthening teachers' information literacy.Third,strengthening the construction of the school-based English resource database from schools and network sharing platform from the education department.
