| "Pouch" is a narrative property often used in ancient novels.It can not only be an ordinary image that conducive to the reappearance of the real life,but also a functional image that takes on the narrative function.It can play a role in structure,plot,character and even be promoted to the subject matter,which is related to the subject and structure of the work.This paper takes the "pouch" in ancient novels as the research object,and takes the character writing as the entry point,and attempts to describe the functional characteristics of "pouch" in the character writing of ancient novels in each period,so as to have a glimpse of the development of depicting character by image in ancient novels.This paper is mainly divided into five parts:In the introduction,the research status,significance and methods of this paper are described successively.The research status is mainly to systematically tease out the achievements of the image research in ancient novels,and to summarize the gains and losses in it.The first part is the "pouch" and the character writing in the novels before Ming dynasty.It is divided into three quarters: the first quarter is an examination of the"pouch",include a examination of the predecessor of the pouch and its relationship with the sachet.Because of the name of "pouch" was born after Song dynasty,so this chapter choose to its predecessor-Pan Nang as the research object.The second quarter is the "pouch" in the novels of Tang and Five Dynasties,respectively expound Pan Nang in the role of static immortal description and sachet’s function in dynamic love plot.The third quarter is the "pouch" in the novels of Song,Jin and Yuan Dynasties.in this period,the pace of Pan Nang and sachets’ history evolution is different,therefore this quarter analyzes the function of Pan Nang in the narrative literature before it quit the history stage and the active expression of sachet in classical Chinese mystery novels.The second part is the "pouch" and the character writing in the novels of Ming dynasty.As the method of depicting character by image matures,"pouch" is appear more often in the novels of this times,and have a closer connection with the innerquarters.So this part starts from three dimensions:appearance description,scene presentation and plot setting,and analyzes the description of "pouch" in the novels of Ming-Qing Dynasties from two perspectives: dynamic and static.It is divided into three sections:the directivity of appearance description,the individualization of scene presentation and the stylization of plot setting.The third part is the "pouch" and the character writing in the novels of Qing dynasty.Based on the above dimensions,the Qing dynasty also divided into three sections: the early Qing dynasty,the middle Qing dynasty and the late Qing dynasty.In the early Qing dynasty,the way of depicting character by "pouch" is basically the same as the previous generation,and has a little bit different.so this section is carried out from three perspectives: the invisibility of appearance description,the one-sidedness of scene presentation and the homogenization of plot Setting.In the middle Qing dynasty,the role of "pouch" in the appearance description is further weakened,showing the characteristic of marginalization.However,due to the publication of Dream of Red Mansions,the function of "pouch" in scene and plot has been played to the extreme,so this section will be centered on Dream of Red Mansions,and carried out around the delicacy of scene presentation and the complexity of plot setting.In the late Qing dynasty,due to the prevalence of tobacco pouch and the decline of realistic novels,"pouch" has a new look in all aspects of characterization.On the one hand,"pouch" is constantly enriched in appearance description and tends to be exaggerated.On the other hand,it is comedy and diversity in scene presentation and plot setting.The fourth part is the conclusion,which summarizes the whole paper and points out the research direction. |
