On Application Of Microlectures In English Teaching For Grade Eight Students

With the rapid development of information technology,multimedia technology has been applied in teaching more and more extensively.To improve the teaching effect,many educators and teachers seek various teaching methods,in which includes microlectures.Microlectures can help students' fragment learning and autonomous learning.It not only meets students' learning requirement,but also enriches learning resources.This study is about the exploration and practice of applying microlectures inEnglish teaching in junior high school.After analyzing the current situation of junior English teaching and the feasibility of applying microlectures in English teaching,the author decides to solve the deficiency of traditional teaching methods by microlectures.Through analyzing the teaching material and teaching objective,the author makes out some microlectures and gives the presentation of a microlecture to show its teaching design,the editing of its video and the interface of the video.The author takes two classes of a junior school in Yichun as objects of the study,one as controlled class,the other as experimental class,sets up a WeChat group as a platform to release microlectures,and cooperates with the parents to supervise the students to watch the videos after school.After one-semester experiment,the author conducts investigations,analyzes the teaching results by the data analysis and finds that students' interests and their initiative in English learning are improved greatly and and their test scores are raised.So,the author thinks that it is feasible to apply microlectures in English teaching to improve the teaching effect,and it is worth popularizing in junior high schools.
