With the sustainable development of China’s social economy,the gap in regional economic development is widening.A large number of migrant workers from economically backward regions have flooded into economically developed regions.Taicang,a city of rapid economic development,has attracted a large number of migrant workers.Thus,many education problems of migrant children arise.The government has formulated several policies in order to solve these children’s education problems.And the education of migrant children has improved to some extent with these policies.However,there are still many problems in the study of migrant children for various reasons,especially in English.In recent years,some scholars have also conducted a lot of studies on migrant children’s education,but mainly focused on the fairness and integration of education.There are not many studies on migrant children’s English learning.The studies of the migrant children’s English learning based on guided learning plan are even fewer.Therefore,this study aims to research and reveal the influence of guided learning plan on the migrant children’s English learning in middle school.In order to find out the influence of guided learning plan on migrant children’s English learning,this study mainly adopts experimental method,combined with questionnaire survey method,interview method,observation method and test method.A one-semester teaching experiment has been carried out among 75 students in two parallel classes of Xinqu Middle School in Taicang,Jiangsu.The experimental class is taught with guided learning plan while the controlled class with the traditional teaching method.Based on the research purposes,this study attempts to answer the following two research questions:1.Can migrant children improve their English learning attitudes and habits in middle school based on guided learning plan?2.Can migrant children enhance their English learning effect in middle school based on guided learning plan?After the careful study and analysis,the main findings of the study are summarized as follows:First,compared with the traditional teaching approach,guided learning plan has not only activated the classroom atmosphere,stimulated migrant children’s interest in learning English,enhanced their confidence in learning English well,but also cultivated migrant children’s good learning habits,such as preview before class,active participation in class and review in time after class.Second,it can be found that the achievements of migrant children in the experimental class are significantly higher than those in the control class through SPSS analysis of the post-test results.In addition,through the class observation,migrant children in the experimental class performed better than those in the controlled class both in class and after class.Therefore,the author believes that guided learning plan not only has a positive impact on improving migrant children’s English learning attitude and learning habits,but also improves migrant children’s learning effect in middle school.The findings of the study indicate that English teachers should keep renewing their educational concepts and try to apply guided learning plan.In the process of applying guided learning plan,teachers should pay attention to the composing of guided learning plan and the guidance to students.
