Chinese textbooks are an important part of Chinese teaching.In the process of writing Chinese textbooks,the characters with clear names and nationalities are gradually used to increase the story of textbooks in order to attract the attention of learners and increase language learning interesting.In the cross-cultural environment,the image of the Chinese in the textbooks represents the overall image of Chinese nationals to a certain extent,and plays an important role in cultural exchanges.Therefore,the study of Chinese characters in Chinese textbooks is also a part of the study of Chinese textbooks.The author mainly analyzes the corpus texts of Chinese characters in the four Chinese textbooks at home and abroad,and summarizes the current situation of Chinese character image design in each textbook.The dimensions of analysis are the shape design of the characters,the character of the Chinese characters and the naming of Chinese characters.Based on the text analysis,the author compares the four textbooks and concludes that the four textbooks have more or less problems in the design of Chinese characters,but there are some successes which are worth learning.The main problems found in text analysis are:the character type is relatively simple;the relationship between the characters is not systematic;the character is relatively dull;the character is not functional and so on.Based on the problems found in the analysis of the characters in the textbook,and combined with the basic principles of textbook writing,the author elaborates on how to design the Chinese image in Chinese textbooks,and at the same time puts forward the principles that should be followed in designing the Chinese image.It mainly includes:enhancing pertinence,focusing on science,improving practicality,increasing interest,taking into account comprehensiveness and typicality,taking into account the times and inheritance.Finally,according to the relevant theories of intercultural communication and cultural communication,we further explore the role of Chinese characters in the teaching of communicative culture and knowledge culture,and put forward some feasible suggestions on how to comprehensively,accurately and profoundly portray Chinese characters and promote Cross-cultural communication.
