Re-appearance Phenomenon Based On New Chinese Words

This article takes the latent words from the Chinese New Words published by the Commercial Press in the 2008-2016 as the main research object.Combining the quantitative investigation with the qualitative investigation,firstly we quantitatively investigate the word length characteristics,word class distribution,syntactic function and structure of the latent words,secondly we summarize the variants of the meaning of the words after the explicit words,that is,the meaning preservation,the meaning replacement and the meaning extension,finally,we analyze the motivation of the explicit expression of the latent words.After this research,we have the following findings:In terms of the word length,the proportion of three words and four words in new words is different.The latent words are mainly two words,accounting for more than 70%of the total,and the average word length is 1.86,which meets the development of Chinese vocabulary.In addition,the number of the one word(actually the morpheme)can not be ignored,nearly one-fifth of the sample,because the word family with affixes is very active in new words.In terms of word distribution,from the perspective of corpus,there are no virtual words in the latent words,and the word classes are relatively single,mainly distributed in nouns and verbs.This is because new words mainly reflect the characteristics of new things,new concepts and new phenomena.In terms of syntactic function,the latent words are basically the same as the modern Chinese common words.This is because the new words are an important part of modem Chinese vocabulary,and the latent words are part of new words,which are part of the modem Chinese vocabulary.The structure of the latent words is mainly composed of synthetic words;Among the synthetic words,the formal production is the highest,followed by the additional compound words.The core words of the new words,such as the words "???????????????",account for a large proportion of the total number of new words.There are three main types of word meaning change after the explicit words:word meaning retention,word meaning substitution and word meaning extension.The meaning of the word keeps the meaning of the old and new words exactly the same,such as "??","??" and "??" and so on.The word meaning substitution refers to the case where the latent word is manifested,the form of the word is unchanged and the meaning of the word is replaced.This kind of situation can be roughly divided into 6 categories,such as"??","??" and "??" and so on.The term meaning extension refers to the new meaning derived from the original meaning,and there is also the case where the meaning extension is also present in the latent words.The result of the extension of the meaning of the word is the expansion,reduction and transfer of the meaning of the word,such as "??","??" and "??" and so on.The motivation of the explicit words is not only the adjustment function and development law of the language system,but also the cognitive mechanism,psychological factors and the influence of new events and new phenomena in the language development.From the perspective of the adjustment function of the language system,the explicit expression of the latent words conforms to the "economic principle"in the language;the isomorphic characteristics of the compound words in the Chinese word formation provide the structural conditions for the generation of the latent words;in addition,the extension of the meaning of the words is The important ways and inherent laws of the development of word meaning.From the perspective of cognitive mechanisms,the common cognitive models of people enable them to understand and absorb new meanings derived from other languages or dialects.In terms of psychological factors,the latent words are easy to understand,and the vivid rhetorical effect satisfies the needs of emotional expression of language users and the psychology of seeking new ideas.In addition,the prosperity of vocabulary is inseparable from the development and transformation of society.Hot events and social phenomena trigger the manifestation of latent words,and modern media has accelerated the spread of latent words.As one of the most complicated phenomena in human society,the diversity of linguistic phenomena is restricted by the regulation function of the language system itself and its internal laws,and it is also inseparable from the subjective cognition of human beings and the influence of social development and transformation.The study of latent words has reference significance for the study of new words and the study of lexical changes.
