A Research On The Zuo Zhuan Wen Yuan

Zuo Zhuan Wen Yuan,which selected 198 articles from Zuo Zhuan,was commented by Chen Jiru and proofread by Zhong Xing,is an annotation of Zuo Zhuan by Zhang Nai.The annotation was first published in the late Ming Dynasty,which was a period when annotations of Zuo Zhuan becane popular and developed fast,and also was the peak of block print in China.In this period,there was a pseudograph phenomenon,so scholars still doubt whether Zhang Nai was the author of Zuo Zhuan Wen Yuan.However,Zuo Zhuan Wen Yuan,an annotation of Zuo Zhuan in this particular time,has its own value in reflecting the academic ideology,the market demands,and the tendency of block printing of folk at that time.A Research on the Zuo Zhuan Wen Yuan mainly investigates the completion,the contents,and the characteristics of the annotation.Furthermore,the research explores deeply about its value and inadequacy,giving an example for researching annotations of Zuo Zhuan.The Research consists of 3 chapters:In Chapter 1,the research investigates the authenticity of Zuo Zhuan Wen Yuan and its publish background.The research investigates the authenticity of Zuo Zhuan Wen Yuan in three parts:Zhang Nai's life and works,the record of Zuo Zhuan Wen Yuan in bibliography,and the sources of texts in Zuo Zhuan Wen Yuan,Then it investigates publish background of Zuo Zhuan Wen Yuan by exploring the development of annotations on Zuo Zhuan,the theory of-writing thesis in Imperial Examination by imitating articles in the Han Wei and Six Dynasties and the phenomenon of block print.In Chapter 2,the research analyzes the contents of Zuo Zhuan Wen Yuan,The research first clarifies the style of the annotation,then analyzes the annotation contents in two aspects:annotation on historiography and style of the article.The annotation on historiography is mainly from Lv Zuqian,focuses on historical figure evaluation and knowing present by the past experience.The annotation on style of the article mainly comes from Sun Kuang,comments the ways of using paragraphs,sentences and words in Zuo Zhuan Wen Yuan.In Chapter 3,the research discusses the characteristics of Zuo Zhuan Wen Yuan.The contents of the annotation express its characteristics in focusing both on historiography and styles of articles.Also,the style of the annotation keeps its simplicity.Besides,Zuo Zhuan Wen Yuan notices similarities and differences of Zuo Zhuan and other historical biographies,and displays changes of Zuo Zhuan by text comparison.The remainder discusses the value and shortcomings of Zuo Chuan Wen Yuan.Although Zuo Chuan Wen Yuan can basically be deternined to be a fake work,it has rationally deleted and merged the selected texts during the compilation,and also showed some ideological progress in the selection of comments,and adopted the mode of evaluation.It also has the advantage of text that is not available in a single review.Despite this,Zuo Chuan Wen Yuan still has some inadequacies such as the choice of not commenting out,incomplete style,more erroneous texts,and simple forms.Appendix lists the couments in Zuo Zhuan Wen Yuan and the comments Zuo Zhuan Jun of the same contents in Zuo Zhuan to find out if there are some identical comments in both annotations by chart,displays the text relationship of the two.
