Sun Yat-sen's Image From The Perspective Of Ta Kung Pao(1917-1925)

With the clue of time,this text regards the news and comments of Ta Kung Pao as the main research materials,and is supplemented by other newspapers in the same age,showing the change of Sun Yat-sen's image in the visual field of Ta Kung Pao.The introduction of this paper mainly introduces the basis of topic selection and related research status.The text is divided into four chapters.The first chapter quotes comments on the newspaper,to show Sun Yat-sen's Law Protection Movement in Guangzhou in the Perspective of Ta Kung Pao from July 1917 to May 1918.These comments are negative,and Ta Kung Pao defined Sun Yat-sen as a "counter-revolutionary" and repeatedly referred to him as "Marshal Ma Bian" and"Sun Da Pao" in this period.When Sun Yat-sen failed to protect the law and left Guangzhou,Ta Kung Pao quite showed a biased action of "beating down water dogs".The second chapter quotes news comments on Ta Kung Pao from November 1920 to August 1922,and describes Sun Yat-sen's second building of the government and his campaign for law protection.In this period,the time span is long and the political situation is complex.Therefore,we take events as the narrative background to analyse the image of Sun Yat-sen created by Ta Kung Pao through its news and comments.With the development of the circumstance,the attitude of Ta Kung Pao changed from denouncing to questioning,and from doubting to sympathizing.This chapter also is the key to the transformation of Sun Yat-sen's image in the perspective of Ta Kung Pao.The third chapter quotes news comments on Ta Kung Pao from February 1923 to May 1925.In the period,the newspaper reproduced Sun Yat-sen who established Guangzhou's government for the third time and its position changed completely.Ta Kung Pao had boundless hope for Sun Yat-sen's Guangzhou regime and said a lot of praise,particularly after Sun Yat-sen's death,the newspaper even raised his image to"the soul of the nation".The last chapter is an analysis of the reports and comments of Ta Kung Pao.The change of Sun Yat-sen's image in the perspective of Ta Kung Pao reflects the political position and attitude of Ta Kung Pao in different periods.Through the analysis of these news and comments,we can seek the reasons behind the changes.
