Yingxian Buddha Palace Temple Sakya Pagoda Portrait Study

The sakya pagoda of yingxian baogong temple is the only existing wooden structure of liao dynasty.At present,most of the researches on the sakyamuni pagoda are based on professional researches in a certain field,without comprehensive and systematic consideration of the sakyamuni pagoda.Based on the background of the construction of the sakyamuni pagoda in baogong temple,the imagological study of the sakyamuni pagoda relics,and the existing research results,this paper studies the basic characteristics and laws of the image,shaping and artistic creation of the sakyamuni pagoda portrait.The relationshipamong painted sculptures,murals and relics in the shakya pagoda is comprehensively sorted out.Under the social background of liao dynasty,the sakyamuni pagoda is studied in the history of Chinese buddhist art.From the perspectives of iconography,history and sociology,this paper makes a comprehensive analysis of the sculpt,composition and color scheme of the shakya pagoda portrait.It is of certain reference value to the study of the buddhist art style of liao dynasty and its status and role in the whole history of Chinese buddhist art,as well as to the cultural and artistic development level and social situation of liao dynasty.
