| Primary school English new curriculum standard points out that interest is the key to mastering a language.It’s an important task for primary school English teaching to stimulate students’interest in English learning.The game teaching is one of the most effective methods in line with this theory.Under the guidance of the new curriculum standard concept,teachers adopt the game teaching mode in the primary English class,which aims at stimulating students’learning interest so as to improve students’achievements and teaching quality.In order to learn about the application of the teaching game in the primary school English classroom,the author took the NO.2 primary school in Henan Tongbai as an example,and studied the following questions in this paper.First,what is the influence of classroom games on pupils’interest in learning English?Second,what is the influence of classroom games on pupils’achievements?Third,what are the problems that exist in the primary English game teaching?And the author proposed some corresponding strategies for these problems.The research lasted from March 10th to July 10thh in 2014.The subjects of this thesis are 80 pupils,they are from Class 1 and 2 Grade 3 in the NO.2 primary school in Henan Tongbai.The main research methods of this thesis included questionnaires,tests and classroom observation.The research findings suggested that the questionnaire proved that classroom games could stimulate and cultivate students’interest in learning English,and strengthen their confidence in learning English.The analysis of three tests proved that classroom games could improve students’English achievements.During the classroom observation,the researcher found that there were some problems during the game teaching.For example,the game forms were single and dull,not all the pupils could participate in the games during the educational activities,the classroom discipline was disordered and so on.And the author also proposed some corresponding strategies to solve these problems,such as teaching presupposition strategy,classroom application strategy and after-class expansion strategy.The application of the game teaching in the thesis provides some references for primary English teachers to use game teaching.Meanwhile,for pupils,game teaching can stimulate their interest and confidence in English learning.Students are willing to participate in the classroom games and feel English for fun. |
