Research On The Application Of E-learning Space In English Teaching Of Primary School

Although curriculum reform has been developed for years,the English teaching in primary schools is still struck in trouble.There are some problems in teaching and learning English,which the traditional teaching mode can not solve.For example,most students are not very interested in English learning and their autonomous learning ability is not good enough.Elearning space,which is a new teaching mode,provides the students with the new concepts and methods in further education process and encourages the students to construct their own space in learning knowledge.The teacher prepares activities to help students acquire knowledge by themselves through the net platform.The thesis aims to explore the feasibility of e-learning space of English learning in primary schools.Three research questions are as follows:Question 1: Can e-learning space stimulate students’ learning interests?Question 2: Can e-learning space motivate students’ autonomy learning ability of English?Question 3: Can e-learning space improve students’ proficiency in English learning?This experiment lasts for 18 weeks.The participants are 82 students from Grade Five in Yangguang primary school in Shenyang.Two classes are selected as the experimental class and the control class.In the experimental class,students are using the elearning space,while in the control class students are using traditional teaching mode.The data are collected from the questionnaires,tests and interview.The results are analyzed by SPSS.The results show that e-learning space can significantly stimulate students’ English learning interest in the primary school.And the students’ autonomous learning ability is motivated.As a result,students improve their English proficiency significantly.In this study,although there are also a number of shortcomings that need further study,it is no doubt that the application of e-learning space pattern is feasible and effective in English teaching in primary school.
