A Report On The E-C Translation Task Of Chronic GLP Report-pacel Flow Directed Pacing Catheter Adhesive Change

With the continuous development of the medical science and technology,medical knowledge is updated at an unimaginable speed.Because the international exchanges and cooperation between various countries are increasingly frequent,the demand of medical English translation is steadily on the increase.Through medical English translation,people can understand the development trends and achievements abroad.Therefore,medical English translation has its certain practical significance.The task named Chronic GLP Report-Pacel Flow Directed Pacing Catheter Adhesive Change is a practical project of English-Chinese translation in which the author participated.The main content of it is about a test report on a medical product.It is a typical medical text with the characteristics of professionalism,functionality and purpose.Accordingly,the author adopted the Skopos theory proposed by Han J.Vermeer as a guiding theory in the translation process,and wrote this translation report,aiming at exploring the difficulties and countermeasures in medical English translation.This report mainly discusses the difficulties and translation techniques at both the lexical and syntactic levels.The difficulties at the lexical level are mainly reflected in the translation of terminology.The author uses such translation techniques as diction and transliteration to guarantee accuracy of the translation of terminology.The difficulties at the syntactic level include the translation of complex sentences and passive sentences.In the translation of complex sentences,the author adopts the translation techniques of addition and division to ensure the fluency and accuracy of the translation instead of sticking to the structure of the original sentences.In the translation of passive sentences,passive sentences can be translated into Chinese sentence with no subject,active sentence or passive sentence to strengthen the readability of the translation.However,there are still some problems during thetranslation.The author summarizes these problems and puts forward some suggestions,hoping to provide some references for the translators who engage in medical English translation in the future.
