Narrative Research On Chinese Contemporary Medical Documentary (2014-2018)

The plan for a Healthy China 2030 clearly sets out the strategic goals of China’s health communication:By 2030,the system of promoting the health of the whole people will be more perfect,the development of health areas will be more coordinated,the healthy lifestyles will be popularized,the quality of health services and health care will continue to improve,the health industry will prosper,and health fairness will be basically achieved.The main health indicators will enter High-income countries.By 2050,a healthy country will be built that is compatible with the socialist modernized country.For a long time,health has been a topic of concern to everyone.The medical-themed documentary is a very important part of health communication,and it shows the audience more intuitively about all aspects related to life and health.While spreading health knowledge,it is also an important implementation of the plan for a Healthy China 2030.Under the vision of health communication,how to better narrate Chinese contemporary medical documentaries has become a problem that academics must seriously consider.Based on this,the author puts the Chinese medical documentary into the research field of narratology.From the "narrative of Chinese medical documentary","narrative structure of Chinese medical documentary","narrative discourse of Chinese medical documentary" and "narrative acceptance of Chinese medical documentary" to specifically examine.As far as the narrative of medical documentaries is concerned,the narratives in medical documentaries are not as singular and stable as traditional narratives for textual studies.Because medical events are uncontrollable,its occurrence and results are full of contingency,therefore,the rigorous logic of traditional narratology provides an effective constraint for the study of medical documentaries.This constraint is specifically expressed as:From the perspective of “narrators”,the communicative system of Chinese medical documentaries shows that Chinese medical documentaries have four narrative subjects.Although the meaning of the narrator extends from the image to the outside of the image,the narrator is still a specific role;From the perspective of “narrative structure”,the medical documentary is laid out according to a certain narrative structure.It not only has a variety of structural models,but also serves a clear narrative theme;From the perspective of "narrative discourse",the narrative symbol as "signifier" has "pointing" in the medical documentary.The narrative perspective in the medical documentary is a technique for expressing the intent of the narrator.In addition,the different time and space inside and outside the image constructs the duality of the medical documentary narrative;From the perspective of “narrative acceptance”,in the specific analysis of the Chinese medical documentary’s narrators,we can discover the importance of the meaning space shared by the Chinese medical documentary narrator and the narrator to reflect the development of the Chinese medical documentary,this is of great significance in advancing the development of medical documentaries.All in all,a deeper understanding and combing of the narrative status of contemporary Chinese medical documentaries will help to establish a good narrative framework for contemporary Chinese medical documentaries,thus enabling people to have a correct and objective understanding of contemporary Chinese medical documentaries.
