A Study On Phenomenon Of "Prodigies" In Wei And Jin Dynasies

Early wisdom has existed since ancient times.Scholars in the Eastern Han Dynasty had a deeper understanding of the phenomenon of early wisdom and had a deep concern about it.In the Three Kingdoms Period,they even took "young wisdom as a taboo".In the Wei,Jin,Southern and Northern Dynasties,there were changes.The "prodigy" recorded in <ShiShuoXinYu>was not only smart,courageous and eloquent,but also kept the fame of the family and participated in the chaotic political struggle in the Wei and Jin Dynasties.Suddenly,so many "prodigies" emerged,mainly because of the development of the family,the development of private education,and the diversity of ideas.However,the authenticity of the phenomenon of "early wisdom" emerged in the Wei and Jin Dynasties needs to be confirmed repeatedly.There are many stories in <ShiShuoXinYu>that do not accord with historical facts and are different from other historical records.All of these are worthy of our doubts about the phenomenon of "early wisdom" recorded in Shishuoxinyu in the Wei and Jin Dynasties.The real reason for the emergence of a large number of false "prodigies" is the political downturn and the change of scholar’s style during the Jin and Song Dynasties.After the continuous transformation of dynasties and the baptism of wars,the great families changed from "loyal to the monarch" to "protecting the family",which was more important than "martyring the country" at that time.The emergence of "prodigies" was a political means for them to enhance the family’s reputation,and also a certain society in this era.They are consciously moulded and trained by adults,become the spokespersons of the adult world to express their aspirations,and ultimately undertake the mission of scholars to resist the ethical order.
