Cao Baoping’s films are both commercial and ideological,and have won the audience’s praise and endorsement of the market.He excavates the depths of human nature,explores social problems,shapes full characters through subtle filming language,and constructs a delicate narrative framework,thus arousing the audience’s thinking about the complexity and diversity of human nature.Cao Baoping’s filmmaking techniques embody the aesthetic theory of Chinese film image.From the perspective of film image narration,the study of Cao Baoping’s movies can be seen in a small way,and the details of the film can be used to pile up the whole story and the emotions of the characters.Research on Cao Baoping’s film image narrative will contribute to the development of Chinese commercial films in the future.Cao Baoping’s film images are rich in categories and levels.He likes the natural environment and humanistic atmosphere in specific areas.He is fond of specific images such as dialect,rain,car,dining table,dog and fish.He is good at depicting the specific expressions of characters and enjoys various and appropriate musical images.In Cao Baoping’s films,the image of a pair of penetrating,intense eyes portrays the vividly-drawn characters.The image of character’s facial expression turns out to be the window to their ideological expression.On the contrary,the image of animals,which appears repeatedly in movies,reflects human life and the world of emotions.The personification of animals conveys the ideological connotations entrusted by the creator.On the prop image in the movie,the image of car has abundant meanings as well as the dual function of lyric and narrative.Behind the image of the dining table,there is a profound dining culture,in which the intricate interpersonal communications and the hierarchy of power are intertwined.Regional imagery creates a gloomy and desolate atmosphere and becomes the "air" in the film.Rain imagery intervenes in the narrative plot and establishes a complex structure.The auditory image in Cao Baoping’s films can be divided into dialect image and music image.Different dialect images have different narrative styles.Shanxi dialect forms a documentary style,Yunnan dialect shows regional cultural characteristics,Northeast dialect produces comedy effect,and local dialect shows hierarchical differences.In music image,piano music externalizes the inner character,single music creates atmosphere and environment,and electronic music can promote plot development.The theme of growth in search is carried by the fate and humanity of the lively and fragrant underclass characters,and then precisely reveals the deep social problems such as the impurity of rural customs,the prevalence of black and evil,youth growth education,high housing prices and so on.
