Based on the author's translation practice in the Technology Department of Beijing Organising Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, this paper chooses a series of documents under the Olympic Games Guide on Technology as the subject of study. From the perspective of explicitation, formal adjustment and Plain Chinese, and under the guidance of Nida's Equivalence Theory, the author analyzes and summarizes the translation strategies.Word-level explicitation is achieved through formal correspondence, addition and alteration.Sentence-level formal adjustment is carried out via transformation of part of speech,passive-to-active change and reconstruction.Plain Chinese is realized through appropriate subtraction. The author also puts forward reviews by a client to provide a different perspective for translation practice through a comparison between the client's modification motives and the translator's translation strategies.Through this practice, the author finds that readers of translated text want more than the precise information, they prefer natural and plain Chinese to focus on understanding the contents, instead of the sentence structure. Therefore, the translator needs to balance formal correspondence with functional equivalence, and choose translation strategies from the perspective of readers. Moreover, the translator should dig deeper in relevant area, and learn more background knowledge,in order to form a comprehensive, proper and obj ective understanding of the source language, and thus conduct further translation.
