Currently,the new technology and the social life are developing rapidly.The various news and information has poured into people’s life through live TV broadcasts.Accordingly,TV interpreting has attracted more attention.There are many different types of live broadcasts with different work conditions and requirements,such as news,interviews,and important events.The corresponding TV interpreting,therefore,faces different challenges.This thesis focuses on consumer electronics product launch.The author has selected two on-site simultaneous interpretation versions of Apple’s new product launch in September 2018.The author has conducted case study on the basis of Skopos theory.In the 1980s,Hans Vermeer brought up the Skopos theory,the main theory of the German functionalism.Skopos theory believes that any translation has its purpose,and this purpose determines the choice of translation strategy.Skopos theory has three rules:skopos rule,coherence rule,and fidelity rule.The skopos rule,indicating that translation purpose determines translation strategy,is the top-ranking rule.The coherence rule(intratextual coherence)and the fidelity rule(intertextual coherence),however,are in subordinate positions.Through analyzing different translation strategies of the two on-site interpretation versions and the quality of the output and listening to other students’opinions,the author tries to spot common problems,raise solutions and hence enhance the quality of TV interpreting of this kind.
