The material of this project is selected from the chapter five of the textbook "American Environmental History".The book is mainly about the environmental changes in the process of modern development in the United States,such as the impact of territorial expansion,western development and other human actions on resources and the ecological environmentThis report consists of four parts:Project Brief,Project Implementation,Case Studies and Summary.The third chapter is the core of this report.Some translation strategies and techniques are used to ensure the accuracy and fluency of the translation.According to the feature of the informative text,they are mainly analyzed from three levels.At the lexical level,terminology and the selection of different meanings of the same word are involved.The syntactic level mainly focuses on the comparison of English-Chinese linguistic features and syntactic structure,involving translation methods such as the adjustment of word order and the translation of passive voice.The textual level mainly focuses on the structural features and logical relations of the article.By completing this project,the translator not only deepens her understanding of American development and environmental history,but also improves her translation.
