In modern China,at the time of social transformation and ideological and cultural transformation, intellectuals who pay attention to the destiny and cultural construction of the country took the West as a model and began the process of consciously pursuing modernity from the object to the system to the ideological and cultural level.Among them, the so-called cultural conservatives represented by Wu Mi and the new May Fourthists jointly constructed China’s modern new culture and new literature. From the perspective of the development of new literature, this paper combs Wu Mi’s poetic origins and poetic thoughts, analyzes his poetry creation, and focuses on the classical feelings and modernity that he presents,as well as Wu Mi in the face of new and old, middle and west,Cultural choices and literary moods in the conflict between the ancient and the present.Wu Mi is a poet and poet critics with the pursuit of the value of Chinese and Western. He was deeply influenced by traditional Confucianism, especially Guan Xue,and benefited from Western culture, especially Bai Bide’s humanistic thoughts, which constituted the ideological origin of his poetic concept.Wu Mi asked poetry to express the true nature of the poet, and has a simple and less aesthetic pursuit. The most distinctive feature of Wu Mi’s poetics is the persistence of "taking new materials into the old rhythm" and the "three realms" of "reality","illusion" and "reality".The former is his inheritance and development of the "poetry revolution" advocated by Liang Qichao and others in the late Qing Dynasty. The latter is his poetic aesthetic view based on the contrast of Chinese and Western culture.Wu Mi’s poetry has rich themes and emotions.Among them, the poems are the most important, and the poems are the most personal. Its poetic style has the typical characteristics of “taking new materials into the old metrics”,but it is always lingering.Wu Mi’s poetics and poetry are the continuation and deepening of the "poetry revolution" in the late Qing Dynasty. They not only have the same background and theoretical origins as the May Fourth New Literature, but also constitute a check and balance and achieve substantial complementarity. It is an important construction force for the development of new culture and new literature. The classical feelings of Wu Mi’s poetic thoughts and poetry creations that emphasize moral character, adhere to the rhythm of the rhythm, and pursue peace and rationality reflect his collusion between Chinese and Western civilizations, the qualitative change of Chinese culture and literature, and his classical morality and classical aesthetics.Stick to it.The classical cultural craze since the 1980 s is more like a return of humanism or a reminiscence of classical warmth. Both the influence of the times and the social reaction are difficult to be unified.
