The early period of the Republic of China(1912-1927)was a crucial period for the transition of traditional Chinese education from traditional old education to the development of modern new education.The traditional education system has fundamentally changed,and the incorporation of women’s vocational education into the education system was one of the most prominent changes.This paper tries to study ‘women’s vocational education’ as the research object,and investigate the performance of Guangzhou women’s education in Vocational Education from 1912 to 1927.Guangzhou is one of the first areas in China to be influenced by Western culture.Women’s schools and church women’s studies have appeared in the late Qing Dynasty.In the early Republic of China,due to the needs of economic development,the further spread of vocational education thoughts,the liberation of women’s thoughts,and the growing calls for the development of women’s vocational education,with the support of the government and people from all walks of life,Guangzhou’s women’s vocational education has been expanded in scale and improved in quality.In the fields of agriculture,industry and commerce,teachers’ training,medicine,fine arts and sports,etc,women’s vocational education has made breakthroughs.A number of women’s vocational and technical schools,women’s normal schools and women’s specialized schools have been established,and the establishment of vocational subjects has penetrated into the entire national education system.Through vocational education,women have acquired the skills to make a living,go out of their homes,engage in occupations,gain economic independence,and further expand the ranks of Guangzhou women’s professional groups,and liberated women’s thinking,cultivated a large number of outstanding students and professional women,enable more women to participate in political and social activities,participated in the anti-imperialist patriotic movement,established student organizations and trade unions,participated in the national conference movement,advocated women’s participation in politics,strengthened personal contact with society and the country,and promoted the modernization of Guangzhou.During this period,women’s vocational education was influenced by the traditional view of being a good wife and a good mother.The women’s vocational education was unable to abandon the family affairs.Due to war,funds were insufficient,and lack of stable social environment.In the process of setting up the school,the effect of female vocational education is weakened by the lack of experience,the uneven quality of teachers,the unreasonable curriculum and the loose management of students.
