In Chinese history, landscape painting began in the Wei,Jin,Southern and Southern Dynasties, and continued to develop in the Tang,Five Dynasties and Song Dynasties.Until the Yuan Dynasty, under the new painting style and the idea of "restoring the ancients"initiated by Zhao Mengfu, landscape painting stood at another peak in the history of Chinese landscape painting with the unique artistic expression language and creative ideas of the"Four Schools of the Yuan Dynasty".Although the Yuan Dynasty was short,it left glorious achievements for the world in the field of art and painting. In the Yuan Dynasty,Nizan,Huang Gongwang,Wang Meng and Wuzhen were the four masters of the "Four Families of the Yuan Dynasty".Their different life experiences, personal accomplishments, knowledge and surroundings resulted in their different artistic styles and formed different painting methods and artistic characteristics.Among them, the "Four Families of the Yuan Dynasty" praised by later generations ranked first with Huang Gongwang, followed by Nizan's "Yiqi" and "Yipin".They had different styles, artistic conceptions,Huang Gongwang's intact and elegant,Ni's simplicity and quietness, which were the models of learning imitated by later generations and had an important impact on the development of painting in Ming and Qing Dynasties.Comparatively speaking, although they were lyrics and freehand brushwork of the Yuan Dynasty, they had different ways of expression in painting style and spatial expression, and different ways of dealing with picture space. So the classics handed down from generation to generation also presented different visual feelings for us.This paper explores the differences in the spatial expression of landscape painting between Nizan, who lived in the first place of Huang Gongwang and Yipin in the fourth year of the Yuan Dynasty. The thesis begins with the first chapter to elaborate the consciousness of space expression of traditional landscape painting, including the structure of brush and ink,the perspective relationship of traditional landscape painting, virtual and real space and aesthetic consciousness under the philosophy of Confucianism,Taoism and Zen to narrate the consciousness and viewpoint of space expression of traditional landscape painting;the second chapter mainly discusses the different painting styles of Ni Zan and Huang Gongwang and the landscape space. The main contents are the expressive features and the two main reasons for their formation;the third chapter mainly explores their differences in composition, ink and ideological realm through the comparison and elaboration of works, the expression of ideology and the understanding of life,so as to highlight the differences in landscape space;the fourth chapter of this paper is based on their different spatial expressive characteristics. To further elaborate the impact on Ming and Qing paintings and later paintings and the artistic value embodied in painting.
