Creative industry is a fast-growing emerging industry and one of the important driving forces for the development of international trade.The scale of international trade of creative products in China is constantly expanding.Since 2005,the export volume of China's creative products has reached the highest level in the world.However,the scale of trade does not comprehensively reflect the competitiveness of China's creative products and its position in the international market.Only when the scale of trade expands,the export structure of creative products is continuously optimized,and the quality of ‘export basket' is continuously improved,that the quality of trade of creative products can be truly improved and the international competitiveness can be enhanced.The export structure of China's creative products is still uneven.The export basket mainly focuses on design products and art crafts.This paper uses ‘export sophistication' as an indicator and uses the data and definition published by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development(UNCTAD)‘Creative Economy' database to identify and depicts creative products.After analyzing and comparing the export sophistication of China and 42 representative countries,the result shows that the export sophistication of China's creative products is increasing year by year.But compared with the international average level,the ranking is still behind and it is at a low level in the international market.This is mainly due to the fact that China's export basket has the largest proportion of products with lower productivity levels.In this paper,the gray forecasting model GM(1,1)is used to predict the relative export sophistication of China's creative products.The forecast results show that before 2025,the relative export sophistication of China's creative products is less than 1,but the value is increasing year by year,which means that the gap between China's export structure and the global average level will decrease year by year.By comparing and analyzing the development of creative industries in Britain and Hungary,this paper proposes that China should vigorously develop its creative industries,improve quality while improving scale,attach importance to government planning and guidance at the macro level,increase investment in scientific research,and enhance the level of creative products.
