Study On Art Of Dürer’s Woodcut

Dürer is one of representativel woodcut printer in the Western.His body is full of the spirit of humanism in the Renaissance.The study of his woodcut art and works are of great research value to European woodcut art.In this paper,artistic history,aesthetic characteristics and effects of Dürer’s woodcut on European woodcut art are the main lines of the systematic and in-depth research.Firstly,the paper studies the artistic process of Dürer’s woodcut in detail and divides durer’s artistic process into four stages: study tour creative period,peak creative period,secondary creative period and multiple periods.The paper determines the unique artistic style of Dürer’s woodcut in different periods through the influence of family and emotions on the artistic process.Then,the paper points out the specific presentation of Dürer’s woodcut in Lutheran Protestantism and Gothic art styles.And the discussions the aesthetic characteristics of the works in detail from two aspects: artistic language and knife technique.In other words,Dürer is an integrator who laid the foundation for the creation and development of woodcut prints in the later period.Finally,the paper makes clear the influence of Dürer’s woodcut print on European humanistic art and technology.Dürer explored the spirit of exploration and freedom in the Middle Ages.Dürer’s contemporary woodcut painter Lucas Cranach is deeply influenced by the protestant and gothic styles in Dürer’s woodcut prints.After Dürer,Rubens and Pivcevic inherited Dürer’s shadow line method.In addition,Dürer’s woodcut prints became the classic carrier of his scientific and technical works and had an important influence on printing,architecture and theory of proportional construction of the human body.
