Every country has its own national habits, customs and culture. When describing the social things, rules, taboos, and natural environment of the nation,it is often used to make metaphors for the sake of more vivid descriptions. For the sake of more simple descriptions, slang is often used for narratives. From ancient times to today, idioms or proverbs are used to express the traditional customs of the nation. In the “Burmese Dictionary”,it is written: “ The structure of idioms is fixed and short, but all have profound meanings.”“Proverb is the oral creation of the people.”So the proverb that people know is a non-fixed and agile phrase. It belongs to the spoken form.Chinese and Burmese proverbs are very rich, but their usage is completely different. It can be said that the usages of the two languages have commonalities and differences. There are five chapters in the full text. The first chapter briefly introduces the reasons and contents of the topic selection, and then mainly compares the similarities and differences of the structure and cultural connotation of the Chinese and Burmese proverbs. The structural comparison mainly compares the similarities and differences of the phonetic grammar, grammar, vocabulary, rhetorical features and semantic structure of the Chinese and Burmese proverbs. The contrast of cultural connotations mainly contrasts the proverbs that reflect religious beliefs, the proverbs that reflect traditional customs, and the proverbs that reflect social experience.
