Investigation And Study On Protection Of Historic-cultural Heritage Of Geographical Names In Chongqing

Geographical names are the carriers of history and culture of the region.Historic-cultural heritage of geographical names are an important part of intangible cultural heritage and also an significant topic of protection of culture of geographical names.Study on historic-cultural heritage of geographical names is not only conducive to textual research on history and exploration of culture of geographical names,but also provides some useful references for protection of historic-cultural heritage of geographical names and research on language and words.Taking historic-cultural heritage of geographical names in Chongqing as object of the investigation,this paper is an attempt to study on protection of regional historic-cultural heritage of geographical names.Firstly,on the basis of combing the relevant research results,this paper briefly expounds the general situation of geography,history,geographical names,culture of geographical names and selected historic-cultural heritage of geographical names in Chongqing.Secondly,street names and natural village names of the scope of main city,town-level and county-level geographical names in Chongqing are the key objects of this investigation.Based on the historical and cultural characteristics of Chongqing,this paper selects some evaluation indicators and establishes an evaluation system of historic-cultural heritage of geographical names,screens and evaluates all alternative geographical names according to the evaluation indicators and system and forms the protection lists.Thirdly,based on the analysis of the impact of urbanization on historic-cultural heritage of geographical names and the experience of protection of intangible cultural heritage,this paper puts forward a few strategies for its protection.In addition,based on the angle of standardization of geographical names,this paper analyses of the irregular phenomena of one geographical name with different writings,overlapping names and changing names of historic-cultural heritage of geographical names in Chongqing and puts forward some corresponding suggestions.Finally,this paper collects and collates the list of old geographical names which disappeared in thescope of main city of Chongqing,analyses the reasons of their disappearance and puts forward some suggestions to protect them.By relying on through analysis,it aims at excavating the historical and cultural connotations of geographical names in Chongqing,which makes a modest contribution to the evaluation and protection of historic-cultural heritage of geographical names in Chongqing.
