Student satisfaction is a kind of student-oriented study proposed by scholars on the basis of customer satisfaction that aims to evaluate the quality of education.Although researches have built some measurement models of student satisfaction with higher education service,while the study on student satisfaction with the teaching of College English as the main body is extremely weak.Therefore,this study take the teaching of College English as the main body and focuses on the following two questions:Q1: What are the main factors affecting student satisfaction with College English teaching?Q2: What is the causal relationship among the factors?According to the above two research questions,this study takes Swedish Customer Satisfaction Index Model(SCSI),American Customer Satisfaction Index Model(ACSI)and European Customer Satisfaction Index Model(ECSI)as the basic theoretical guidance.After fully comparing the dimensions of these three classical customer satisfaction models and synthesizing the situation of College English teaching in China,this study constructs a model of student satisfaction with the teaching of College English taking use of the structural equation modeling(SEM)technology,including six latent variables of teacher image,student expectation,perceived quality(software),perceived quality(hardware),perceived value and student satisfaction.Among them,perceived quality(software)refers to the quality of teaching service perceived by students,and perceived quality(hardware)refers to the quality of school hardware facilities perceived by students,such as multimedia facilities,book resources,etc.In terms of research methods,an empirical study was conducted among 500 non-English majors in Sichuan International Studies University and an electronic version of the questionnaire was conducted among 500 students.The collected data were analyzed by SPSS 16.0 and AMOS 21.0 in the constructed model,and the relationships among the latent variables in the model were calculated.This paper also finds out the main factors affecting student satisfaction with the teaching of College English through numerical analysis,and puts forward some pertinent suggestions to improve the quality of College English teaching.The main conclusions of this study are as follows:Firstly,the factor of teacher image,perceived quality(software),perceived quality(hardware),and perceived value have a direct positive impact on student satisfaction,and the factor of perceived value has the most obvious direct positive impact on student satisfaction.Moreover,these factors also have an indirect impact on student satisfaction by influencing other factors.Secondly,through the analysis of the direct effect,indirect effect and total effect of the factors in the model,it is find that the teacher image,student expectation and perceived value are the three factors that have the greatest impact on student satisfaction.Finally,this paper clearly states that due to the limitation of conditions and time,the research subjects are not representative enough,so the credibility and reliability of the conclusions may not be strong enough.However,as the first batch of study on model construction and analysis of College English teaching,it has theoretical and practical implications for future research.
