Learning motivation and learning input are two significant factors that affect students’ academic performance.Learning motivation accounts for a large proportion of the influencing factors in second language acquisition."The main influencing factors that affect second language acquisition are motivation which accounts for one-third,learning,intelligence and others." The motivation not only promotes the learner’s learning behavior,but also affects the learner’s learning behavior’s continuity or termination.Furthermore,learner’s academic performance can be predicted by their motivations to a certain extent;the learning input focuses on the continuous stable psychological state of the learner’s learning process,which has a significant impact on learners’ academic performance.literature method,questionnaire survey,data analysis and interview are mainly used the literature method,questionnaire survey,data analysis method and interview method to conduct an empirical investigation on 42 Donggan students from the 2016 intermediate class in Northwest Normal University.The survey data mainly studies the following issues:1.What is the status quo of Chinese learning motivation of donggan international students?2.What is the general situation of donggan international students’ investment in study?3.What is the relationship between Chinese learning motivation,investment and academic performance of donggan international students? What kind of connection?According to the three research questions proposed in this paper,through the analysis of SPSS 19.0 data,it is found that:1.The overall learning motivation of donggan international students is at a medium level,among which the external learning motivation is the strongest and the instrumental motivation is the weakest.2.The overall investment of donggan international students in learning is at the medium level,in which the average contribution in the middle level,the other two aspects of the investment of students are in the middle level.3.There are significant differences in the internal motivation,external motivation,instrumental motivation and overall learning motivation between the high score groupand the low score group of donggan international students,but there was no significant difference in the integrative motivation between the high score group and the low score group.The high score group and the low score group also have significant differences in vitality,concentration,dedication and learning investment.4.There is a positive correlation between Chinese learning motivation,investment and academic performance of donggan international students,among which the correlation coefficient between learning investment and academic performance is relatively high.To some extent,this indicates that learning motivation and investment have a direct impact on academic performance and can predict academic performance.Based on the above research results,some opinions are put forward from the perspective of teachers and students respectively.Teacher level:pay attention to the internal motivation of guiding donggan international students to learn Chinese and stimulate their desire for knowledge;Enrich classroom teaching methods and enhance students’ classroom activity;We will give more care and encouragement to donggan international students.At the student level: actively participate in class interaction to improve class efficiency;Enhance their professional identity,improve professional interest and independent learning consciousness;cultivate good study habits and cherish learning opportunities.
