Since the reformation of English curricula in senior high schools, reading comprehension has played an increasingly important role in English teaching.English reading is an important channel for students to obtain information. It can also increase the students' English language knowledge and expand their vocabulary.English reading level is an important factor that can measure students'English comprehensive ability. However, there exists a series of problems in the practical English reading class:most students are passive knowledge receivers and they often lack interests in English reading. In addition, lacking of interaction between the teachers and students is a common practice.Research has shown that the flipped classroom can break the limitations of traditional teaching. It emphasizes students' subjectivity and let students have the initiative of study. It can also meet the students'individual needs and provide some new ways and inspirations for education reform. This thesis attempts to connect the WeChat with flipped classroom and make the flipped classroom close to daily experience of students in order to stimulate students'interests, cultivate students'autonomous learning ability and finally improve students'English reading performance. The study applies the WeChat-based-flipped classroom teaching to high school English reading class, which tries to answer the following three questions:1.What are the changes in the high school students' English reading interests, reading habits, and class participation in the WeChat-based-flipped classroom?2.What effects does the WeChat-based-flipped classroom teaching have on the senior high school students'English reading performance?3.How do the students evaluate the WeChat-based-flipped classroom teaching in senior high school English reading class? This study lasted for 16 weeks. One hundred students from two parallel classes of a senior high school in BaYuquan Yingkou participated in the experiment. There were 50 students in the experimental class and another 50 students in the control class.During the experiment, these two classes were taught by the same English teacher and they had the same textbooks. The teaching contents and teaching schedule were the same in these two classes. The only difference was that the WeChat-based-flipped classroom teaching was adopted by the experimental class and the traditional reading teaching(Pre-reading,While-reading and Post-reading)was adopted by the control class. The research instruments included questionnaires,pre-test and post-test,and interviews of nine students from the experimental class. The result of pre-test showed that there was no obvious difference in the English reading performance between the experimental class and the control class. After the experiment, the author analyzed the collected data by SPSS20.0 software, including the analysis of independent sample T test. This study showed that the WeChat-based-flipped classroom teaching can improve the students'English reading interests. It can also cultivate the students'good reading habits and enhance the students' class participation. This study also showed that there was significant difference in English reading performance between the experimental class and the control class after the experiment and the average score of experimental class was higher than that of the control class. Most students gave positive evaluations to the WeChat-based-flipped classroom teaching.Given its limitations,it cannot be denied that the WeChat-based-flipped classroom teaching was feasible and had certain practical significance in English reading class.
