China and South Korea are neighbors geographically,facing each other across the sea and a strip of water.Get along well with each other since ancient times.Belonging to the Confucian cultural circle,they not only have close political and economic exchanges,but also interact with each other in culture.Since ancient times,especially during the tang dynasty,the Korean peninsula has injected a great deal of the essence of central plains culture.After modern times,although China and South Korea have different systems,this does not hinder the cultural exchanges between the two countries.This includes the exchange of literature between the two countries.Shen jingshu and zhang jie are the representatives of female writers in the two countries.Among their many works,"looking for my mother"and "the person who loves me the most in the world has gone" are stories about mothers.This paper takes the mother image in Chinese and Korean novels as the center and analyzes the similarities and differences between the mother image in Chinese and Korean works.The second chapter first discusses how the mother image in the novel is reflected and studies the similarities of the mother image in the two novels.The third chapter mainly studies the differences of the mother images in the two novels.Chapter four discusses the reasons for the different images of mothers in the two novels,including people s understanding of mothers at that time and their status in the whole society and family.The fifth chapter is the conclusion based on the discussion of the first three chapters.Through the description of mother,this paper further analyzes people s understanding of mother and mother s status in the whole society and family at that time.Thus,the similarities and differences between the mother images in Chinese works and Korean works are analyzed.To sum up,the study of shen jingshu's "looking for mother"and zhang jie's "the person who loves me the most in the world has gone" as the center of the study of the mother image comparison is of great significance and great research value,and through the interpretation of the two works,we have a new understanding of the role of mother.
