A Stady On ?Ba Dong Tian?

"Ba Dong Tian" is a collection of quasi-script novels indited by Bi Liange owner,a novelist in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty.It has eight volumes,each of which tells an individual story about ways of the world.The eight stories have different themes that involve every aspects of social life.Some tell about gifted scholars and beautiful ladies,some tell about public case,the others tell about social intercourse,etc.While the thought of punishing the evil and promoting the good runs through the whole work,the meaning of "Ba Dong Tian" represents the author's eight beautiful ideals.At present,the research on "Ba Dong Tian" in the academic circles lacks of overall study.Although some works on script novels and quasi-script novels mentioned it a lot,it was just introduced roughly about the edition,the author and other basic information.As a representative quasi-script novel written in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty,a comprehensive study of it will be helpful for us to understand the development of quasi-script novels written from the Ming Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty,as well as to study the development history of Chinese ancient novels.This paper makes a general analysis and discussion on three aspects including theme ideas,character figures and artistic characteristics of "Ba Dong Tian" by using methods of literature research,social history criticism,comparative research and type analysis.This paper is divided into five parts.The first chapter is the introduction,which introduces the purpose,significance,current research situation,scope and research methods of the study.The second chapter is an overview of "Ba Dong Tian".Firstly,it differentiates the author.Secondly,it expounds the background of creation.And then it summarizes the content.Chapter three is the analysis of the theme ideas of "Ba Dong Tian".It both praises and criticizes the society and various kinds of people in society and expresses the thoughts through comparison method.This part mainly uses the comparative research method to study.The fourth chapter is the analysis of the characters in "Ba Dong Tian".This collection of quasi-script novels depicts men and women in detail.This article divides the characters into two categories:male images and female images.What's more,male images are divided into gifted,servant,immortal or other images,while female images are divided into beautiful,chaste,jealous or other images.According to the background of epoch,traditional culture,the ethos at that time and other factors,this part use type analysis method to conduct research.The fifth chapter is the analysis of the artistic characteristics of "Ba Dong Tian".It has unique features in image building,plot structure and linguistic features.In terms of image building techniques,the author mainly uses contrastive technique,psychological description and description of expression.As for the characteristics of plot structure,the paper will analyze in following aspects:bidirectional structure,skillfully using dreams and misunderstanding,and causally correlating.With regard to the linguistic features,this paper discusses the usage of combination of prose and verse,skillful poetry,and proper satire.With combining the background of epoch and the author's psychology of writing,this paper studies and explores the content of "Ba Dong Tian" from the perspective of traditional aesthetics,expecting to providing reference for the study of quasi-script novels during Ming and Qing Dynasties.
