The translator takes charge of the translation of Section One,Chapter Three selected from the book,Confusion of Civilization: the Way out for Tibetan Education written by Badeng Nima.This section of the source text mainly introduces the philosophicalfoundation of Tibetan culture,including the relationship between man and nature,value and method of thinking by quoting legends as well as philosophical explanation.The Skopos Theory regards translation as a purposeful activity.It is not just the equivalence,but the purpose of translation that determines its methods.At the same time,there is the coherent and accurate relationship between the original text and the translation and the loyal relationship betweenthe original writer and the reader.The translator plays a role of establishing these relationships.The practice was carried out under the guidance of the purpose that a translation reads smoothly,accurately and faithfully and with rules of Skopos,coherence and fidelity.The translator used transliteration,reversing,the comprehensive use of different methods and other translation methods to achieve those purposes.Important points of this translation report lies in analyzing and concluding the word or phrase,sentence and discourse translation of this project.It aims at deepening the understanding of translation through the combination of translation theory and practice.In addition,the project aims at providing a readable book to English speakers who are interested in Tibetan culture and Tibetan education by this project.
