A Study On The Northern Field Headquarters In The Five Dynasties Period

"Field Headquarters " is a special term for the military system from the middle Tang Dynasty to the early Song Dynasty.In the early days,it was a temporary military command system established in the Mid-Tang Dynasty during the counterinsurgency war.Since the Five Dynasties period,there have been temporary and permanent.This paper chooses the case of the northern field headquarters in the Five Dynasties period as the object of study.On the basis of sorting out the northern field headquarters from the historical materials,this paper mainly discusses the role of the northern field headquarters in the Five Dynasties period,the institutional changes and the influence on the regime change of the Five Dynasties.This paper is divided into three parts,the main content is as follows:The first part,combined with historical data,lists and restores the specific posts,generals and their concurrent posts at each stage of the northern field headquarters.The northern field headquarters of the Later Liang Dynasty,the Later Tang dynasty and the Later Jin Dynasty was divided into different stages according to the different supreme commander.Taking the concrete situation of each war as the clue,this paper analyzes the evolution of the general's identity,the composition of troops,the garrison and its influence on the current situation.The second part,according to the situation of the Later Han Dynasty and the Later Zhou Dynasty,the achievements of predecessors,discusses the reasons why the northern field headquarters did not appear in the two dynasties,including the short period of rule,internal strife of foreign enemies,suspicion for ministers and the inconsistency with the unified strategy.The third part discusses the relationship between the northern field headquarters and the power structure of the five dynasties.First of all,combined with the results of the war and influence,the northern field headquarters basically achieved the expected strategic objectives at the beginning of its establishment,which played a positive role in maintaining the regime.Then I compare system changes of the northern field headquarters in the three dynasties,explore the reasons for these changes.Finally,from the perspective of the northern field headquarters,the relationship between it and the regime change of the five dynasties was analyzed.Eight of the nine emperorsin the regime change were all related to the northern field headquarters.Because of this,after a series of reforms in the Later Zhou Dynasty,a new system was gradually formed,which became the source of the Song Dynasty.
