| The Academy Awards(the Oscars),the best-known and time-honored set of awards to recognize excellence in cinematic achievements on an annual basis,never fail to gain attention from its global viewers.The ever faster information spread in recent years sets even higher requirements for the timeliness of' Oscars ceremony broadcast,so live stream with simultaneous interpretation is therefore in high demand.Yet such form of Oscars ceremony broadcast has not been much resorted to so far in the mainland of China and quality of the simultaneous interpretation awaits improvement.This report is a simulative simultaneous interpretation of the 90th Oscars ceremony 2018 on the basis of Skopos theory.Basically according to problems in three aspects:information input,information processing,and information output,it tentatively explored such simultaneous interpretation strategies as reasonable speculation,prediction,information simplifying,information splitting,information summarizing,syntactic linearity,amplification and omission,and supplementary explanation.This paper consists of five chapters.The first chapter describes the task background and significance.The second one expounds the task process in three phases:before interpretation,while interpretation,and after interpretation.Chapter three introduces the theoretical basis,namely Skopos theory and its three rules.The fourth is case study on the basis of Skopos theory that discusses the application of eight simultaneous interpretation strategies to problems in three aspects.The last chapter is a summary of the practice.This paper aims to explore for the Oscars ceremony potential problems possibly encountered in simultaneous interpretation and relevant simultaneous interpretation strategies accordingly employed,so as to provide some suggestions for future simultaneous interpretation practice on such theme or others of the sort. |
