This article attempts to contact the earlier middle tang dynasty social,ideological background and relationship between the phase of the three religions,through the four teaching ideas,Hui-yuan yuan to hide to teach of criticism and inheritance and Huiyuan to the influence of teaching ideas,so as to fully understand the Huiyuan to teach thought,grasp the purport of the Huiyuan to teach thought and its purpose,status of Huiyuan in Hua yan school and status in the history of Buddhism in China as a relatively accurate evaluation.And hope to study the tang dynasty Hua yan zong teaching reform and heritage of the law to provide some help.Hua yan sect is one of the representative sects of Buddhism in the tang dynasty.It can be said that hua yan zong's doctrine represented the peak of Buddhism doctrine in tang dynasty and also the peak of Chinese Buddhism doctrine.The thought of hua yan zong had a profound influence on the later Buddhism and even the neo-confucianism of song and Ming dynasties.Fazang,the actual founder of hua yan sect,judged and interpreted all Buddhism of China and India with the "five religions and ten sects",and based on this system of judging and teaching,constructed a complete set of justice and principle system,which can be said that the Tibetan judging and teaching thought is one of its most important thoughts.Huiyuan is Fazang's "top gatekeeper" was highly valued before his death.However,after the death of Fazang,Hui yuan criticized his judicatory thought,saying that the five judicatory teachings of Tibet could not be established,so she was severely criticized by Qingliang-Chengguan.Chengguan takes the Tibetan theory of inheritance law as his duty,criticizes the judicatory thought of Huiyuan,and responds to the criticism of Huiyuan.Later generations of hua yan zong people hide law for three ancestors,Chengguan for four ancestors,Huiyuan excluded in hua yan zong orthodoxy,Hui yuan as a branch.But is hui yuan's criticism of Fa Tibet correct? What is the essential relationship between judicatory teaching of Hui-yuan and judicatory teaching of Fazang? Is it reasonable for Cheng-guan to criticize Huiyuan's judicatory thought? Is Chengguan's defense of Fazang and judicatory right? How is the relationship between Zongmi's judicatory thought and Huiyuan's judicatory thought? These are things that can be studied in depth.This paper is divided into four chapters.The first chapter briefly introduces thebackground of Huiyuan's time,the relationship between the three religions and the rulers' policies of the three religions in this period,and then introduces the life of Huiyuan and her writings combined with historical data.The second chapter introduces Huiyuan's four teaching thoughts of judgment and interpretation,which are divided according to Huiyuan's own theory of "narrate the difference","distinguish the right from the wrong" and "show justice".Chapter three and chapter four are the focus of this paper.Chapter three expounds Huiyuan's criticism of Fazang and judicatory teaching,and the inheritance between Huiyuan and Fazang and judicatory teaching.The inheritance of Huiyuan and Fazang in the thought of judicatory teaching is an innovative aspect of this paper.Chapter four expounds the influence of Huiyuan's judicatory thoughts on Chengguan and Zongmi respectively,reveals the main influence of Huiyuan's judicatory thoughts,better grasps the original intention of Huiyuan's judicatory thoughts,and makes a relatively fair judgment on the status of Huiyuan.
