As an important part of Chinese economy,marine economy has great impacts on the long-term development of China's economy.In order to promote its development,a number of policies have been issued by China.In May 2017,after the successful completion of the Twelfth Five-Year Plan,the National Development and Reform Commission discussed the opportunities and challenges facing China's marine economy in the Thirteenth Five-Year Plan for National Marine Economic Development,further highlighting the important strategic position of marine economy in China's economic development.The current author chooses the first four parts of The 13 th Five-Year Plan for the Development of China's National Marine Economy as the object of translation and completes this translation report.In this report,the current author elaborates the translation process in the five chapters of introduction,task description,process description,case analysis and conclusion.The first chapter introduces the background of the report,purpose of the report and significance of the report.The second chapter describes translation task in two aspects of source text and target readers.The third chapter is process description,in which preparation of translation,process of translation and quality control are elaborated.Case analysis is the key chapter of the report,in which the current author makes a profound analysis of the difficulties encountered in the process of translation in the lexical level,sentential level and textual level,and puts forward countermeasures under the guidance of functional equivalence translation theory,achieving that the reader's response to the translation is consistent with the reader's response to the source text.Lastly,the current author makes a brief conclusion on the main contents of the report,findings and limitations in the report.Through this translation practice and the writing of the report,the current author has basically mastered the unique language features of China's marine economic texts,in which a large number of terms and proper nouns and many long sentences bring difficulties to the choice of translation methods.And thus,it is of vital importance for the translator to grasp professional knowledge and various translation methods.In addition,this report offers foreign readers a wide range of reference materials in terms of the research of Chinese marine economy,and it helps to further disseminate Chinese marine culture to other countries.However,the report still has some limitations,which requires the author to strengthen the study of relevant theoretical knowledge and the cultivation of translation practice ability.
