| Linguistic features are a comprehensive manifestation of different morphological and functional dif-ferences in a language, reflecting different cultural backgrounds and communicative functions. The co-occurrence model reflects the differences in genre and morphological characteristics. With the contininuous development of computer technology, based on the quantitative and statistical research path of large-scale corpus, the quantitative analysis of linguistic features in different corpora are realized.which becomes a new direction of grammar and register variation research. In the field of corpus liinguistics, the Multi-Dimensional approach founded by Douglas Biber in 1988 plays an important role in the study of English genres and provicdes an important reference for the English TOEFL test reform. In Chinese linguistic studies, this method can also reveal the co-occurrence patterns of linguistic features in different Chinese genres and their correspondence with stylistic finctions. It is an i m,portant quantitative research path. However, there is a lack of literature on the use of Multi-Dimensional approach to study Chinese genres. This study uses Multi-Dimensional approach to select Chinese authoritative journal articles in the humanities(Chinese literature, history, philosophy)and social sciences(economics, sociology, law),with a total of 970 articles, more than 9.2 million words to create a specialized corpus.A factor analysis of 111 Chinese linguistic features reveals that there are seven dimensions of co-occurrence patterns in authoritative journals of humanities and social sciences:Descriptive/Interpretative,Conceptual Judgment/Behavior Reproduction,Expatiation and Development,Existentiality Statement,Counting and Measurement,AmbigLuity Expression,Sequence and Connection.Furthermore, through MANOVA and post hoc test of the factor scores along different dimensions and registers, combined with qualitative analysis of texts, the register variations within dif-ferent disciplines of Humanities and Social Sciences are further verified and summarized, which enrich the research results of Chinese language and corpus, and provide references for academic Chinese writing,Chinese as a second language acquisition,Chinese information processing, etc. |
