An Analysis And Research Of Samuel Zyman’s Fantasia Mexicana

This thesis idea is from the first time heard about the flute sonata which composed by Samuel Zyman on the concert in the college.The author was interested in the piece of the melody and the rhythm with a little jazz style.Until the graduation recital,author played the piece of Fantasia Mexicana for Two Flute and Piano(orchestra)with others,the Mexican melody style with plentiful rhythm,give more color to the twentieth’s century flute piece,and the key change during the melody with harmonic interval progressing,give the musician more direction to follow,also let the auditoriums full of energy and pleasantly.For this conclusion,the author would like to tell the information about Mexican music and let people more understanding the different style’s piece in the twentieth’s century.The whole thesis is divided into 3 parts.Introduction,main part,version compare and the conclusion,with reference and some sheet musics.In the first chapter,the author introduce the composer Samuel Zyman,also interview by person,to know the background and the idea for the music which he composed.Besides,from the Mexican history to the Mexican music,more realize the style of the development and how the rhythm using in the music.The second chapter,analyzed the piece of Fantasia Mexicana for Two Flute and Piano(orchestra),the motivation of this piece and the harmonic continuing with music structure.The third chapter,using visualization analysis to discussion the speed and the dynamic in this piece,and the author’s interpretation of this piece from graduation recital.And the version with original two flutists Elena Duran and Marisa Canales,whom played with the orchestra version.The conclusion is to arrange the point and to sum up the core of the value.
