Xianzhang Chen,was a great master of Neo-Confucianism and is also known as a famous poet.He was mainly active in the year of Chenghua and Hongzhi.In Neo-Confucianism,he was the founder of Lingnan School and Jiangmen School of Ming Dynasty and the initiator of Ming Dynasty’s heart-mind theory.In poetry,he wrote more than 2,000 poems in his lifetime.His works were absolutely different from those of the poetry prevailing at that time,and contained high artistic value and personal characteristics.He is the representative of the "mountain and forest poetry style" as well as "Xing Qi style " or "Xing Li style ".His poetry is also called as"Chen Zhuang Style"together with Chang Zhuang’s poetry,who is another master of Neo-Confucianism,but has higher artistic achievement than Chang Zhuang.Neo-Confucian poetry are created by philosophers who can embody their unique personalities and Neo-Confucianism thought in their works.The Neo-Confucian poetry genre is a poetry genre in ancient China that has been inherited for generations.Xianzhang Chen is one of the outstanding representatives of this genre.Based on the abundant and mature literature collation achievements of Xianzhang Chen,this paper tries to make a comprehensive and in-depth analysis of Neo-Confucianism’s poetry and explore its ideological content and artistic characteristics by using the methods of literature research,text close reading,social and historical criticism,and explores their ideological content and artistic characteristics,with a view to providing reference for the study of academic poems and the thematic study of Chen Xianzhang’s Neo-Confucianism poems.This paper is divided into four parts.The first chapter is the introduction,mainly introducing the purpose and significance,research status,research scope and methods,and defining the concepts of "Neo-Confucianism" and MNeo-Confucianism poetry".The second chapter summarizes Xianzhang Chen’s life and his poetic theory.He attached great importance to the role of poetry in education,believed that poetry should bear the Tao of Heaven and be based on temper He also advocated that poetry should be natural and easy,which was closely related to the identity of Neo-Confucianists and the characteristics of their academic thoughts.The third chapter is the ideological content of Chen Xianzhang’s Neo-Confucianism poems.On the one hand,his Neo-Confucianism poems show his propositions of "Tao is in harmony with things,mind is in harmony with everything else",on the other hand,they show the unique life state of Neo-Confucianism,namely,the interest of self-satisfaction after learning,the joy of pastoral scenery,the firm heart of admiring Tao,the feeling of recalling the former proxy,and the eagerness to encourage the latter to learn.The fourth chapter explores the artistic features of Chen Xianzhang’s Neo-Confucian poetry from three aspects.Firstly,his main performance is light and easy,natural and elegant,and superb.Secondly,in terms of expression techniques,some of his poems combine"temperament" with "discussion" and treat "discussion" as "temperament".This article calls this expression technique M combine rule and reality",which is divided into " two forms:" rule lead reality,and "reality lead rule ".His other poems symbolize the things in the real world to express abstract philosophical thoughts.This article refers to the"reality is virtual" expression technique as "comparing things with the Tao." Thirdly,language features are manifested without embellishment,useing lots of auxiliary word,or repeated words,instead specializing in more exact vocabulary.In short,his Neo-Confucian poetry contains a broad and deep ideological content,and has a distinctive artistic feature. |
