Comparative Study On The Yellow-glaze Porcelain Of Jingdezhen Imperial Kiln In Ming And Qing Dynasties

Yellow has become the imperial color of the emperor since the Sui and Tang dynasties,in the early Ming dynasty,Jingdezhen imperial kiln factory was established,and yellow glaze porcelain stood out from many monochrome glaze porcelain,which became the imperial porcelain of the imperial household.And it was forbidden by the palace to build privately in folk,the same is true of the later each period.Yellow glaze porcelain is not only practical,but also the embodiment of imperial power and feudal hierarchy.As far as current museum collection of the imperial kiln yellow glaze porcelain in Ming and Qing dynasties is concerned,according to its functions,they are main for the porcelain for life of imperial consort,the porcelain for furnishings of the Study and the porcelain for sacrifice of the palace.We can only found literature or works on the system of the Jingdezhen imperial kiln factory,the preparation of color glaze and the yellow glaze porcelain in other areas before the Ming dynasty in the existing related researches,besides the technical analysis of low temperature yellow glaze,while there is no more relevant system researches on the yellow glaze porcelain in Jingdezhen imperial kiln.This article takes the development and evolution of implement modelling of imperial kiln yellow glaze porcelain as the research emphasis,through the research on the change of typical implement modelling in each period,to further discuss the style characteristics and cultural implications of the kind of imperial porcelain.Firstly,the three periods of early,middle and late period in Ming and Qing dynasties were classified according to the development venation of yellow glaze porcelain in this article.To carry out classification and research on the implements with different shapes in terms of functional characteristics of the imperial kiln yellow glaze porcelain in Ming and Qing dynasties based on the collected literature and pictures.Then with the distinguish of Jingdezhen traditional ceramic circle,carving porcelain,focusing on the modelling contrast analysis of common yellow glaze in Ming and Qing dynasties,it is expected to find out the difference of the main products of the imperial kiln yellow glaze in the two dynasties.On the whole,the modelling of the imperial kiln yellow glaze porcelain is stocky and simple and unsophisticated,which shows the beauty of implication;the modelling of theimperial kiln yellow glaze porcelain is delicate and elegant,and the variety is rich and changeful;in the end,this article deeply analyzes the main reasons for the characteristic difference of the imperial kiln yellow glaze porcelain in Ming and Qing dynasties,finding that it was influenced by the craftsmanship political culture background,imperial aesthetic tendency and ancient philosophical thought and so on at that time with varying degrees.
