| With the deepening of domestic and foreign cultural exchanges,exchanges of Chinese and foreign literature also receive great attention.Despite the fact that interpreting of literary talks accounts for a small fraction of the interpreting practice,it calls for further analysis and study due to gradual progress of mass media and people’s growing cultural demand,so that experience of interpreting of literary talks can be drawn on and fully utilized.This report analyzes the C-E Consecutive Interpreting of the speech Uniqueness of Eileen Chang’s Works from the perspective of Interpretive Theory.There are a number of difficult points in the process of interpreting since the speaker Zhi An improvised this speech in Hong Kong Book Fair,which include interruptions during the speech by the hostess,expression in Chinese culture,disorder in the sentence structure,information redundancy,loose organization of the speech and ambiguity.Various interpreting strategies are combined under the guidance of the Interpretive Theory so as to solve these difficult points.Chapter 4 focuses on how to solve difficulties under the guidance of the Interpretive theory and interpreting strategies including omission,addition,conversion,combination and free translation.It can be concluded that preliminary preparation before a literary interpreting and abundant understanding on literary works are of great significance.What’s more,the interpreter has to be flexible enough to apply various interpreting strategies so as to deliver a concise and accurate interpreting.Literary interpreting glossary summarized in Chapter 3 and analysis of difficulties in literary interpreting as well as corresponding solutions will contribute to further exploration and practice in this field. |
