Characteristics Of College Students’ Romantic Relationship Balance And Its Relation To Attachment And Satisfaction

College students are in early adulthood,which is the stage that physiological and psychological gradually mature,intimate relationship is dominated by the romantic relationship,the psychological development of college students lead to far-reaching impact.China ’s relationship culture pursues harmony and balance.Domestic and foreign research on intimate relationship rarely consider Chinese relationship culture,it is rare that psychological balance theory was applied to Chinese college students’ romantic relationship,the relevant questionnaires are few.For this reason,on the basis of literature review and questionnaire survey,this study constructs the hypothesis of balance theory of romantic relationship,and on the basis of the theoretical hypothesis,the questionnaire of college students’ romantic relationship balance is compiled,and the questionnaire is formed by preliminary test and data analysis.And then use the self-made College Students’ Romantic Relationships Balance Inventory,Experience in Close Relationships Inventory,Intimate Relationship Satisfaction Inventory to study the college students who have experience of love,analyzed the characteristics of romantic relationship balance and its relation to attachment and satisfaction.The main conclusions are as follows:1,College Students’ Romantic Relationship Balance Inventory contains internal balance and external balance,with good reliability and validity,can be put into use.2,The scores of internal balance dimension is significantly higher than that of external balance dimension.3,The difference of romantic relationship satisfaction in the gender is significant,the boys’ scores for the romantic relationship satisfaction is significantly higher than the girls;The difference of balance in the love situation is significant,those who had romantic relationship but are single now was significantly lower than those who are in love;The difference of the number of romantic relationships is significant,after further multiple comparisons,it is found that in the external balance,the level of lovers in 1 time is lower than that is less than 3 times;The difference of balance in the age group is significant,after further multiple comparisons,it is found that the external balance score of the ≤19 age group is significantly lower than that of the ≥23 age group.4,There was a significant difference on romantic relationship satisfaction of college students with different balance states,the satisfaction level of balance is significantly higher than that of unbalance.according to the satisfaction of romantic relationship,four balance states are balance,internal imbalance,external imbalance and unbalance by descending order.5,There was a significant positive correlation between balance and love satisfaction,and there is a significant negative correlation between attachment and love satisfaction.6,balance and attachment can predict romantic relationship satisfaction,and attachment for the negative prediction,the rate of explanation was 13.9%;and balance for the positive forecast,the rate of explanation was 10.2%.Balance has significantly adjust influence on the relationship between attachment and love satisfaction.7,Under different control conditions,the balance’s and attachment’s influence on relationship satisfaction is significantly different.In general,attachment has greater impact on romantic relationship satisfaction.Under the conditions of gender,for the boys and girls,the influence of them are significant;Under the condition of love situation,for those who had romantic relationship but are single now and those who are in love,the influence of them is significant;Under the condition of the number of romantic relationships,for lovers who had one time and those who had more than once,the influence of them is significant;Under the condition of age group,the influence of them is significant;Under the condition of balance states,for the balance,the influence of them is significant,and for the external imbalance and internal imbalance,only the impact of attachment is significant,for the unbalance,the influence of them is not significant.8,In different love situation,age and grade,romantic relationship balance has different adjusting impact on the relation.For those who had romantic relationship but are single now,the moderating effect is significant;For those who are in love,he moderating effect is not significant.For the ≤19 age group,the moderating effect is significant,for other age group,it is not significant;For the first grade group,the moderating effect is significant,for other grade group,it is not significant.
