Exploration To Seal Script Influenced By The Difference Of Materials

As the top of five scripts,the development of seal script relatives tightly to the progress of paleography.Moreover,seal script has its unique character and independent meaning in the presents of calligraphy.As per the discovery to the traces of ancient literal civilization,awareness and consideration to the evolution and prosperous of seal script has been emphasized.This thesis is constructed as six sections:Section One: Introduction.In this section,a review of the research significance,research status overseas and domestic,research method,generate of seal script and its progress and character has been drawn.Section Two: Seal script and its hand—writing skills on bronze antique.Pre-Qin era,ruler attach great importance to bronze antique,as it is carrier of etiquette.Bronze antique records the inscription of calligraphic history,and scaffolds the investigation to Pre-Qin era penmanship,as historical basis.Section Three: Character analysis of seal script hand—writing skills on bamboo slips and silk.In this section,the hand—writing skills of seal script has been explored chronologically,from Spring and Autumn ages on bamboo slips and silk,to seal script on Bin-bamboo slips and on Han-silk.Section Four: Evolution and progress of seal script in tablet and stone inscriptions.Before the invention of paper,literal characters were recorded on tortoise shell and bovine bone,bronze antique,jade,bamboo slips,silk and stone chronologically respectively.Tablet and stone inscriptions were rare in the Western-Han Dynasty,but increased in the Eastern-Han Dynasty.Conclusive analysis to the evolution and progress of seal script has been drown in this section,Section Five: Abundant and varied papery seal script.This section begins with the innovation and exploration of its literacy skill in the Pre-Qing era,Qing Dynasty and the early Republican era,and broaden the awareness to seal script.Section Six: Conclusion.The character of seal script has been categorized chronologically,subjectively and objectively,as well as its innovativeness,succession and referent ability.Additionally,this thesis prospects its potential improvements through its artistic category,cultural value and zeitgeist.
