A Study On Danben Of Yuan Dynasty

As the symbol of Yuan's literature,Yuan tsa-chu is regarded as phenomenal literature,receiving the same fame as Tang poetry and Song poems.It is rich in both playwrights and zaju.It is divided into two types including Danben and Moben,which claims to be the striking feature of Yuan tsa-chu.As for Danben,it is a mature pioneer to show females.The thesis,taking the existing Danben as a case,aims to make an in-depth study on Danben.The Introduction consists of two parts.One is about the introduction to previous studies on Danben of Yuan Dynasty,through which the research methods and significance are presented;the other is about research objects and orientation.There are four chapter in the main body:Chapter 1: it presents the origin and development of “Dan”,as well as three kinds of meanings of “Dan”.The formation of Danjiao experienced a process as twisting as that of Jiaose in classical plays.It develops itself based on various skillful performances.Thus Zajuse and Jiaose are always complementing each other.Chapter 2: it aims to study the main performance pattern of the lead singer of Yuan tsa-chu for there is only one lead singer.Then it continues to differentiate the essential distinguishes between Danben and Moben in terms of the setting of the lead singer based on the standards of them.Chapter 3: it aims to interpret the reason why it selects Danben as the research object based on the proportion Danben occupies in all 12 types of Yuan tsa-chu.Different from Moben in the aspect of narrative intentions,it,oriented by the plebification utilized in its narration,aims to describe the life of the underclass.Chapter 4: it intends to present how players of Danben express their emotions in a different way from Moben,namely the lyricism of Danben.On one hand,it,compared with Moben,features delicacy and sentimentality by means of the study of its Gong-mode and rhymes of Qu's tunes.On the other hand,it shows the unique temperament of female via the presentation of various wise,clinging and resolute women.
