This thesis is a report on E-C translation of NSW ENDOSED COURSE STAGE 5(Version 3)from the perspective of Functional Equivalence Theory.The source text is about an introduction to the STEM(STEM is the abbreviation of Science,Technology,Engineering and Mathematics)course,which is applied in Australia for many years.It aims to provide the Chinese education practitioners,students and their parents with a better understanding of the STEM course system and standards,which will facilitate a reference for their studying abroad or designing related courses.The author,working as a part-time translator for Edutour Australia — an intermediary agent for self-sponsored study abroad,was assigned to translate this project.This report is divided into five parts: Chapter 1 is introduction.In this part,the author makes a brief introduction of this project and the thesis.Chapter 2 is description of translation process.In this part,the author analyses language features of this project and describes the translation process,which includes the preparation before translation,the implementation of the translation process of this project and the post evaluation of the translation version.Chapter 3 is the theoretical framework of the translation analysis.In this part,the author introduces the content of Functional Equivalence Theory and summarizes that the reader-focus is the core part of Functional Equivalence Theory.Therefore,in Chapter 4,the author intends to conduct case studies from the perspective of Functional Equivalence Theory and summarizes the problems encountered in this process.Chapter 5 is summary.To some extent,this translation practice is necessary for students who are willing to study abroad in Australia and educators to fully understand this course.This chapter is a review of this project.In this part,the author elaborates the gains and shortcomings during the translation process of this project.On the basis of summarizing these questions,the author tries to find the translation strategies,which will give some reference for related projects from the perspective of translation methods and skills.
