Late Ming dynasty is an era where there were creative thinkings and new ideas.There were many important thinkers and writers.There was a peak about the communication of Confucian,Buddhism and Daoism in the late Ming dynasty.The relationship between Confucian,Buddhism and Daoism were the most important quetion at that time.Tao Wangling was a scholar and a litterateur.On the one hand,he inherited Wang Yangming's and Zhou Haimen's ideology on mind.On the other hand,he carefully studied the Buddhist and Taoist books.Tao Wangling adopted a tolerant attitude towards Confucian,Buddhism and Daoism,and formed his own ideas.It is necessary to study Tao Wangling's thoughts.This paper is divided into six parts.The first part is introduction and the chapters from the first to the fifth is the body parts.The introduction summarizes the academic views about Tao Wangling.The introduction includes a research summary of Tao Wangling's literary thoughts and life,a research summary of Tao Wangling's Philosophical Thought and a research summary of the relationship between Tao-Wangling's Philosophy and Literature.This paper points out the origin and significance of the study.Also,the paper points out the innovations of the research and some further researches which are in need in the introduction.There are five chapters in my body parts.In the first chapter,through Tao Wangling's family background,academic experience,teachers and friends,we comprehend the formation and the change of Tao Wangling's thoughts.The second chapter mainly studies the theory of Tao Wangling's theory of heart.Tao Wangling's theory of mind inherits Wang Yangming's and Zhou Haimen's ideology of mind,and develops his own ideas.Tao Wangling thinks that the Tao is heart.According to this understanding,Tao Wangling makes a related study.The third chapter is about the study of Tao Wangling's theory of cultivation.Tao Wangling absorbs Confucianism's cultivation,Taoism's cultivation,Buddhism's cultivation,in order to work on Man's nature and life.The fourth chapter studies Tao Wangling's understanding of ideal life.He discusses what is the ideals of Saints and Sages and how people should look at life and death.And in real life,people should enter or retreat.All in all,Tao Wangling not only pays attention to real life,but also concerns about the metaphysical side.The fifth chapter is about the social influence and evaluation of Tao Wangling 's thoughts which inclueds Confucianism,Buddhism and Daoism.The first section is the influence of Tao Wangling 's thought on the academic part and public life of late Ming dynasty.The second section is the evaluation and enlightenment of the thought of Tao Wangling.The innovations of this paper exist in the combination of literature research and philosophical interpretation for studying Tao Wangling's thoughts.The research studies Tao's two books called Jie Lao and Jie Zhuang.It enrichs the thought of Tao Wangling.We can learn from the books that Confucianism is privilege in the connection of these three religious,and know Tao Wangling's theory which is the product of the understanding of Tao.In the philosophical interpretation aspect,this paper carefully combs Tao Wangling's experience of learning Confucianism,Buddhism and Daoism.Tao Wangling thinks that the three religions all take hearts as principal.Tao Wangling adopts advantages from the theory of idea-centric,the theory of spiritual cultivation and the theory of the spheres of living to evolve the unique style.In Tao Wangling's view,Confucianism,Taoism and Buddhism have a same origin of "Tao".The distinction between the three religions is the performance of the different aspects of "Tao".Through the "Mind",people can break the barriers between the three religions and take advantage from the three religions.Tao Wangling stresses that the "Mind"first is the mind of Yang-Ming's,the natural mind of Taoism and the mind of Buddhism.Tao Wangling uses Yang-Ming's mind to integrate the Buddhist and Buddhist Mind-Nature Theory.On the one hand,Tao Wangling stresses that thinkings should fall into reality and daily practice,on the other hand,he emphasizes the spirit of the free and extrication.Although the ways of understanding are different,they think the key lies in the human heart.Tao Wangling thinks that through the three religions'methods people can understand the mind and reach the spheres of living.By combing Tao Wangling's thoughts which discuss the relationship between Confucianism,Buddhism and Daoism,we can learn the way that the scholars in late Ming understanding and responding to the real life problems.
