Theater Front And People Striving For Drama Movement

Theater Front was created by those theatergoers,Dong Meikan,Hou Feng,Li Susi and Tian Qin in Chengdu during the time of Anti-Japanese War.It started in 1939 and ended in 1942.It consisted of two chapters.It was published for about three years during the war.There were two reasons for it.On one hand,it aimed at fitting people,educating people,rousing people,organizing people to devote themselves to rescuing theater by using the theater as the weapon.It stressed the effect of theater during the war.On the other hand,it helped people to advance their civil quality.At the same time,it leaded the development of the later theater by studying the theory of rescuing the nation through theater.This essay will explore how the Theater Front combines the Anti-Japanese War,theater and people together.The essay will divide to four parts.In the first part,the author will discuss the beginning of the rescuing theater during the war.In the second part,the author will analysis the spread of the theory of rescuing theater.It mainly discusses the spread of stage craft and theater theory.In the third part,it will study the reports about the practice of rescuing theater.It consists of local theater,theatrical organization and theatrical activities.In the fourth part,it will study the dramas and performs which were published in the Theater Front.In the last part,it will evaluate the devotion of rescuing theater made by Theater Front,historical significance and latent faultiness objectively.
