The Linguistic Analysis Of The Concise But Meaningful Characteristic Of The Tang Poetry

The language of Tang poetry is concise and profound.Besides the poets deliberately pursued the aesthetic effect of the implication.Therefore,concise but meaningful has become an important characteristic of the language of Tang poetry and an important topic in the study.From the three angles of grammar,semantics and rhetoric,this paper unifies the three levels to explore the features and causes of this characteristic.The first chapter mainly introduces the previous studies on the language of Tang poetry.The study of Tang poetry has a long history,which can be divided into two stages: the ancient poetry study and the modern linguistic study.The achievements of each stage have laid the foundation for the further exploration of this article.From the perspective of grammar,the second chapter summarizes several grammatical reasons for concise but meaningful of the language of Tang poetry.Using the part of speech flexibly,ellipsis,inversion,syntactic contraction,intertextuality are the reasons.Although these kinds of grammatical phenomena are more common in ancient Chinese,they are more flexible in the Tang poetry,thus leaving space for semantic expansion.From the semantic point of view,the third chapter discusses several aspects of the semantic expression of Tang Poetry: semantic association,semantic collocation and semantic polysemy.From the semantic level,it explores the reason of the rich semantic meaning of the Tang poetry.Semantic association can extend the scope of the semantic meaning,semantic collocation can play the role of semantic complement and strengthening,and the expression of polysemy can enrich the semantic expression directly.The fourth chapter,from the point of view of the rhetorical case,discusses the role of metaphor,migration,metonymy and allusions to the rich meaning of the Tang poetry.The use of these figures is unique in the Tang poetry and is worthy of discussion.The last chapter summarizes the research conclusions,innovations and deficiencies.
